Safer Space Self Defense Training
"Safer Space Self Defense Training-for Womyn, Trans and Queer folk"
This is a four hour self defense training for womyn, trans and queer
folk. The training will minimally cover sexual assault awareness,
setting and maintaining boundaries, survivor blaming language and first
response advocacy. The greater part of the training is an energetic and
physical self defense which includes a basic fear grounding technique,
self defense movement stance, blocks, punches, kicks, and releases from
chokes and grabs. The essence of the training is to survive assault and
to escape. This is an intensive class with lots of physical movement,
it is also adaptable for most body abilities. What to bring:
loose/comfortable clothing, water bottle, snacks if desired, notebook
and pen for notes and a willingness to work in pairs.
