Photos From May 1st March for Immigrant Rights

On May 1, hundreds rallied and marched down Lake St. in Minneapolis in support of immigrant rights. The demonstration was organized by the MN Immigrant Rights Action Coalition and the May 1st Coalition around the following demands:

  • Stop the Raids and Deportations
  • Drivers Licenses for All
  • Unconditional Legalization for All Now
  • Support the Employee Free Choice Act

Immigrants and their families were joined by trade unionists, anti-war activists, students, human rights advocates, and anti-capitalists. Some participants wore t-shirts calling Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) the real criminals. The t-shirts were designed for a 7 am demonstration this Wednesday, May 6 at ICE headquarters in Bloomington.

The march culminated with an outdoor festival that included speeches, music, and theater. Performances demonstrated the hording of land and resources by the U.S. as well as the power of solidarity among social justice movements.

Similar demonstrations were held in cities all over the world to celebrate International Workers Day. For more information on May 1st demonstrations across the U.S., see http://www.fightbacknews.org/2009/05/may-day-2009-tens-of-thousands-rally-for-immigrant-rights.htm

America is so awesome.  Where

America is so awesome.  Where else in the world will city, state, and national governmental agencies allow so many criminals and dirtbags who want to "bring it all down man" state so publicly and march around with their little signs?  I hope you all feel better now, because you accomplished nothing other than prove to all of us exactly what you are.

you're not kidding anyone.

Wasichu go home!

We didn't cross the border. The border crossed us!

NO BORDERS! NO NATIONS!

NO MASTERS! NO SLAVES!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!  classic.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!  classic.  thanks for the racist, anarchist reply.  Spoken like a true moron.

what?

I wasn't the one who made that other comment but honestly how is it racist???

agui!

"Agui!" is a vernacular expression in our city with no actual translation in English but just an interjection of jest.  The thing is, the immigrant issue wouldn't be resolved without a holistic approach to illegal immigration problem. We know amnesty will never work.  We know prevention is better than cure.  We know that rights are inalienable.  These are what we know but there's a lot out there that we don't know and thus need to be argued on.

refrigerant

though most of us use air conditioners we hardly try to gather knowledge about how it works and the different intricacies of an air conditioner. However, with a little more knowledge, we can actually be saving a lot on maintenance and also prolonging the life of our unit. One such thing that we hardly know much about is the refrigerant or Freon that is inside the air conditioner.

If there is one thing you can

If there is one thing you can say about the RNC 8, they are brave and principled people. From day one, they have always said that any movement for their defense must also be about strengthening the movement as a whole. I don't speak for them but from what I've seen, they would never shy away from publicly supporting others under attack even if doing so would help their case. 642-691 dumps/BH0-010 dumps/1z0-520 dumps/70-576 dumps/E20-522 dumps/HP0-D07 dumps/000-037 dumps/70-293 dumps/199-01 dumps/1z0-526 dumps They fully embrace a political as well as legal defense. That's why I am proud to not only work for their defense, but to call them friends.
