TCIMC Video: Robert Erickson Punks Tea Party - The Full Story
In this new TC Indymedia video, we give a new look (in HD!) at the now-infamous Robert Erickson Tea Party punk with added footage of crowd reactions and interactions with counter-protesters. Erickson's speech exposed the hypocrisy of the white supremacist, racist and xenophobic rhetoric of right-wing extremists, who use dangerous imagery to frame the immigration debate. It also drew attention to the plight of the Dakota people, who currently control .006% of their original land base, which was stolen via fraudulent treaties, genocide and ethnic cleansing.

Obviously it was done as a rhetorical argument since that will never happen, but that doesn't change the fact that people are here illegally. I'm not against LEGAL immigration, in fact I think we should increase the number of people we allow in to this country LEGALLY, but until those laws are changed we should enforce the ones on the books. On socialism, if you don't think Obama's views are socialist you are clearly blind to what socialism is (progressive tax code, nationalized health care, cap and trade, government owning businesses, limiting C.E.O. pay) so do a little research on what the legislation actually in front of congress says, that he supports, and you'll see how most of it is designed to take money from the wealthy and give to the poor. It's not just Obama thats been a socialist leaning president in this country, most of the presidents in the past century (both sides of the aisle and especially FDR) have promoted socialist ideals but since most people don't read the laws and take an objective view of it, they don't care.
Who are "the wealthy"?
First: socialism does not have a competitive market system where private enterprise competes. That is not part of a socialist structure.
Who are "the wealthy"? Why is it such a terrible idea to have a more equal distribution of resources? What explains and justifies the possession of great quantities of resources in the hands of very few who act on their own wills without input from others?
The government should be forbidden to have a strong concentration of power and wealth at their disposal, but the individual shall be allowed to grow ad infinitum in both power and wealth? The policy makers of the government are elected by citizens and ultimately are supposed to be at the mercy of the America's collective will. The only authority private concentrations of wealth and power have to answer to are laws, regulation and public cries for assistance from the government -- the source of the former two. In the absence of this, what is left?...really?
The country has to have a law defining the legal minimum dollar amount a human's existence/work is worth for an hour. But still, some defy that idea, in spite the fact that figure still puts one in abject poverty, by hiring those who have no right to power and no legal guarantee to the minimum wage -- illegal immigrants.
Oh, and those are a problem...we need to stop...by increasing the government's role, exercise of power and use of wealth. Strange.
Support yourself. You will never be wealthy. You are not one of them. Fight corporate growth. Fight corporate wealth. Support regional commerce. Local commerce. Communities.

This obama healthcare is far from socialism. How is making everyone buy into private insurances mandatory, socialism???? So taking money from medicare and extra taxes on everyone , though at different levels, and giving these subsidies to the insurance companies is like European socialism>??> What it does is guaranteeing a shit load of new healthy customers to the blood sucking insurance companies. When has he restricted pay of ceos who has stolen from us? He has not! Taking over companies also is bullshit. I like the well thought out answers, you guys actually like debate unlike most leftys who just call me names. A few points. You think there should be a minimum wage and I'm guessing you support the "less fortunate" (horrible term because it implies people couldn't do anything to improve their situation) in this country but what you may not think of is how the min. wage hurts the poor. Who makes min. wage? Young, inexperienced, and uneducated aka the poor. How much is the labor these people can provide worth? I'll admit my labor wasn't worth min. wage when I first turned sixteen but in order to run a business, those owners had to hire me. My point is the min. wage INCREASES UNEMPLOYMENT which is ironic because people on the left claim to want to help the poor. It's even more ironic because lefty politicians tout their support for the min. wage, then get the ignorant, uneducated to vote for them. (i.e. Union Blue and Chad Gruetz). I could go on and on about how Obama/Pelosi/FDR/ are socialists but I don't have the time to rant much longer so I'll move on to one point I can agree with you ignorant lefties. The rich have all the power. I disagree on how to solve this problem though. Big business is a friend of big gov. and the only way to change this is to get rid of big gov. How you ask is big business a friend of big gov. I'm glad you asked. The bigger the company, the easier it is to spread the cost of complying regulation with regulation around. If I own a company that sells 100,000 products and I'm competing with a company that sells 1,000 I can afford to comply with regulation. If you own a mom and pop store, that regulation that costs 10,000 a year to comply with could put you out of business. BOTTOM LINE IS BIG GOVERNMENT IS BAD NO MATTER WHAT THE FORM, IT SCREWS THE LITTLE GUY YOU GUYS CLAIM TO WANT TO HELP. Final point because I need to do some homework and educate myself. This is about the will of the people. The will of the people should be listened to but within the confines of the constitution. As soon as you stop following the constitution you might as well throw it out. If any of you guys did a little research to expand your mind you would find that every thing in the greatest political document ever written was designed to keep gov. out of our lives. Free market capitalism is the great equalizer even though it gets bashed by ignorant youngins such as yourself. We haven't actually followed it since that douchebag racist socialist Woodrow Wilson was in office but I digress. Hopefully you guys read this at some point and I'll give you some reading to help you guys see the truth.
