Amnesty International Presents "Torturing Democracy"

Local Amnesty International activists will present a screening of the acclaimed documentary "Torturing Democracy" at the Oak Street Cinema on Nov 4th at 7 pm.  Discussion to follow the film.

"Torturing Democracy" relies on the documentary record to connect the dots in an investigation of harsh interrogations of prisoners in U.S. custody - and points straight to the top. Timely and powerful, at its heart the film is about the rule of law - and how the government pushed it aside despite the fierce resistance of many on the inside.

It features a segment on the "torture memo" written by University of St Thomas law professor Robert Delahunty.
