Santa’s been watching, and knows that Cargill has been bad to our ice caps this year!

Minneapolis is home to Cargill Incorporated, the largest importer of Palm Oil into the US. The Rainforest Action Network is calling on Cargill to adopt a Global Forest Policy that respects rainforests, family farmers, and our global climate.

Counterdemonstraters rallied today at the Midtown YWCA on Lake Street after successfully routing neo-Nazis who appeared to protest a anti-racism workshop held by the Y. The peaceful group played music and listened to speakers throughout the day, after the Nazis fled the scene having tomatoes hurled at them as they went, according to one onlooker. The MN Immigrant Rights Action Coalition and the May 1st Coalition are planning the
4th Annual March for Immigrant Rights on May 1st, 2009. We have solicited permits
for a march down Lake St. and a rally on Nicollett Ave, and they have both been
denied.

Just as we did two years ago, we are asking the Minneapolis City Council to pass a
resolution to support our march on Lake St. PLEASE CALL today to let your city
