Stop War: Benefit Dinner for PSWI

On July 2nd, 8 activists who identified themselves as "Project to Stop the War Industry" were arrested in Anoka, MN for locking down and blocking the entrance of ATK weapons manufacturing plant. They are now facing charges and legal fees.

Support PSWI in their endeavors to stop the war industry by joining us for a benefit Spaghetti Dinner with live music on August 23rd at 7pm. There will be vegan options, and childcare is provided.

The dinner will be at the Smith Theater (627 Smith Avenue, St. Paul).
Suggested sliding-scale donation of $5-$50.

Does the FBI have ESP? Law enforcement and the Anoka ATK Lockdown

New information has become available regarding the events on Wednesday, July 2nd when 8 people locked down to the driveway outside ATK (Alliant Tech Systems), a weapons manufacturer in Anoka, MN.

A source within one of the local law enforcement agencies that responded to the situation reports that at approximately 6 AM on the day of the lockdown, an hour and a half before the action took place, they received a call from the FBI to inform them of the impending action.

Another Anoka Arrestee Visited by SPPD

One of the nine arrested at the ATK weapons manufacturing plant in Anoka county last July recently received a visit from the St. Paul police department. Sergeant Scott Duff and a probation officer (whose name is not known) came to the arrestee's parents' house two weeks ago to chat. The arrestee, who was a juvenile at the time of the arrest, wasn't at home, and the officers spoke briefly with her mother outside of their house.

Anoka Arrestees Post-arraignment Update

The eight adults from Project to Stop the War Industry who were arrested on July 2nd at the ATK weapons manufacturing plant in Anoka entered a not guilty plea to their three misdemeanor charges at their arraignment this past Wednesday, and the pre-trial has been set for October 16th at 8:30am.

Anoka Arrestee Intimidated by Saint Paul Police in Connection with RNC

One of the nine people arrested at the ATK weapons manufacturing facility in Anoka, Minnesota last month came home Monday afternoon to find the business card of Saint Paul Police Department Sergeant Scott Duff left in his mailbox with a note written on the back reading “Please call when you have time, thanks.” The individual immediately contacted an NLG lawyer who then contacted Sergeant Duff inquiring about the nature of the request.

Anoka Arrestees Need Help

Two weeks ago, nine people were arrested at a nonviolent demonstration against the Iraq war for participating in civil disobedience at a an ATK ammunitions plant in Anoka, Minnesota while protesting war profiteering. Each were charged with the maximum penalty—three misdemeanors—and the group is collectively facing fines and fees currently estimated to come to an overwhelming $11,000.
